We all know that being a black woman in today’s world is a challenge. We have to juggle our overworked and underpaid professional lives with the demands and expectations of our family lives, all while checking our attitudes and opinions at various doors. Sometimes being “on” never allows us to “turn off”. Meeting societal expectations that break through glass ceilings on a daily basis all in the name of sophistication, elevation, education and paving new paths can be EXHAUSTING. However, being what many consider as “ratchet” ….is TOO MUCH. Our experiences, while individualized, are like no other. This is why we are. Talk Space with Gen and Qui, is a safe space to explore the joys, frustrations, and obstacles of the modern-day black woman with notes of levity in hopes of working together to find a balance of something that falls right in the middle. We hope you join us on this ride towards finding that harmony, all while discussing today’s hot topics…acknowledged and unspoken. Come on in, have a seat, grab your favorite drink, and let’s chat. Hey Luvs!
Come on in, grab your favorite drink, have a seat, and let's just chat!
This week while deciding on what to talk about, we had an epiphany and decided to discuss how sometimes in our current society, there is a disconnect between what is and is not appropriate for children (from our perspective of course). This one took us longer than expected so we had to break it up into two parts for you.
In part one we talk about the lack of an appropriate market for those children that fall into the adolescent/pre-teen age group. Stay tuned for part two!
Thank you for sticking with us and tuning in.
XOXO

Hey luvs!
On today's episode, we dive into the stigma that we as women cannot have it all. You already know we beg to differ. Having it all, doesn't always mean having it all the way together all of the time. Sometimes, things get compromised. Sometimes things get sacrificed. But that is life, and we have the amazing ability to make it happen on our terms.
So join us for another one of our deep dive conversations!

Hey GQPodCrew,
Come on in, grab your favorite drink, have a seat, and let's just chat about understanding that red flags are subjective and can change and evolve as we change and evolve. With that said, we must remain true to ourselves and set those boundaries so that we can ensure we are not creating more uncomfortable space in our relationships by not showing up as our authentic selves.
In this episode, we also discuss giving yourself a minute to breathe between relationships/situationships/entanglements or encounters. In that space, it is good to reflect on not only our former partner's actions and emotions but ours as well. This is a good place to check-in and be honest with ourselves. Take inventory of what we liked, loved, appreciated, and could do without, and then take that growth, that positivity (after we have worked through any potential trauma) into our next relationship leaving no baggage to drag in and place upon our next partner.
Expecting the next person to carry our baggage is unrealistic and unfair. Give them the same clean slate chance that you would want to be given.
As always, we are immensely grateful for your listenership and feedback.
We appreciate you.
xoxo Gen and Qui
